Nigel is retiring !

After many years steering DBS towards the successful business it is today Nigel has decided the time is right to ‘Retire’. I don’t expect he will be putting his feet up and wearing slippers just yet, and I’m sure you will still see him around the village. Mick is continuing the running of DBS so you will still see our vans out and about as works continue. We wish Nigel a very happy retirement from the whole DBS team 🙂

Happy Easter

As the first restrictions begin to be eased and you can now meet friends in the garden, we’d like to wish you a very Happy Easter. Fingers crossed for a spell of warm weather!

Welcome back, to lockdown 3!

I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year but as the country enters lockdown 3 it might not feel like it to many of you. Construction is allowed to continue so our sites are open with safety measures in place and if you are considering having building work done we can still come to discuss your needs. During this weird time we would like to send you our best wishes to keep yourselves safe.

Christmas Greetings

We wish you all a safe and quiet Christmas! Sorry there won’t be much partying! Lets hope next year we can get back to a more normal way of life. Till then we wish you all the best for Christmas. 🙂

2nd Lockdown

The Government has today announced that there will be a 2nd national lockdown starting on 5th November. The Construction industry has been told we are allowed to continue working so our sites will still be operational, albeit with constant material shortages and delays. We hope you all stay safe at this difficult time.

Covid update

We are in the process of re-starting work on site and have various measures in place to ensure the safety of our clients and work force. There are significant delays obtaining various building materials so please bear with us as we navigate the numerous obstacles at this time. Thank you for your patience and stay safe.

Covid 19 Lockdown

We are sorry to announce that due to the current National Lockdown measures we have temporarily stopped all work. we will re-open when safe to do so. Thank you for your support and stay safe.

Apprentice wins Regional Recognition

Duffield Building Services are proud to announce that Jack Edwards, one of our 4 apprentices, has just been awarded Yorkshire and Trent’s ‘Apprentice of the Year’ in the Federation of Master Builders’ (FMB) Master Builder Awards 2019 held at a black-tie event in Manchester. As part of the Master Builder Awards, the FMB carries out a nationwide search to find the building industry’s best apprentices.

Nigel Williams, Director says ‘Jack operates independently like someone who has 10+ years of craft experience. His range of skills is very impressive for someone who is still only 20. He now routinely constructs timber roofs, creates stud partition walls and joisted floors.

He is valued by all of our other tradesmen to deliver an excellent quality job, and nobody questions whether he is capable to complete a task. He is a very highly valued member of the DBS team.’

As a regional winner, Jack will now go up against other winning apprentices from around the UK with a chance to claim the coveted national Apprentice 2019 crown

The national ceremony will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Park Lane, London on 20th September and we wish him well.
